Treating Decay

Our practice strives to be proactive when addressing decay in an effort to save as much of the natural tooth as possible. After a cleaning and examination, our doctors take the time to discuss their findings so patients understand the benefits of the recommended treatment plan. For patients with a minor cavity, we remove all decay and protect the treated area with a composite resin filling.

When untreated decay develops into the inner portion of the tooth, we can perform root canal therapy to eliminate infected pulp from the inner canals. Additional factors that could necessitate this procedure include repeated dental work or an untreated fracture or crack in the tooth. Once we complete the procedure, our team will protect the tooth with a custom-crafted porcelain crown.

Replacing Extracted Teeth

While we make every effort to preserve natural teeth, some patients may benefit from having the affected tooth or teeth removed to improve oral health. Our doctors have the training and expertise to perform this procedure right in our office. After allowing proper time to heal, patients can choose the appropriate prosthetic to complete the procedure.

Traditional tooth replacement options include removable dentures and partials, as well as fixed bridges. Patients can choose one of these prosthetics to effectively fill the empty spaces left by lost teeth. For those wanting a more comprehensive solution to tooth loss, we also provide implant-supported restorations to replace the tooth root in addition to the visible portion. Dental implants are titanium posts that are placed into the jaw to act as the tooth root. Replacing missing teeth with this restorative method provides a more stable base to affix prosthetics, but more importantly, the implant helps stimulate the jaw tissue to help prevent resorption.

After the dental implants have been placed and sufficiently fuse to the jaw, we offer a variety of implant-supported restorations to complete the restorative process.
